Running for Shine!

It isn't long ago that I had set this page to assist with the running of these events.  Having been excited to run the Cardiff Half Marathon with my daughter Hollie, she is no longer able to run the event.  However, her boyfriend and partner in crime has decided to step up and take her place (he's also much faster than me, which currently isn't hard due to my ankle injury :))

With this very much in mind, life has presented me an opportunity to run an additional event.....the Abingdon Marathon!  This now means that I have 5 events in 5 weeks with the Marathon being the last event on the 19th of October.  As Hollie is unable to take part, I have decided to keep the fundraise amount to our combined total.

It's that time of year again, but this time with a special twist! Last year, I took on the challenge of running four events over four weeks—a demanding yet incredibly rewarding month. This year, I am excited to embark on the same journey:

- 21st September - Wild Events Off Road Duathlon at Cannock Chase

- 28th September - Windsor Half Marathon

- 5th October - Cardiff Half Marathon 

- 12th October - Manchester Half Marathon

- 19th October - Abingdon Marathon

What makes this year different? I am absolutely privileged to have my daughter joining me for her very first Half Marathon at one of my favourite venues—Cardiff!

Together, we have decided to run for Shine, an organization that has provided invaluable support to a friend and neighbour.  I will be representing and running for Shine across the 4 events and if you are lucky, I will provide before and after photos of how not to look :)

Shine offers specialist assistance from before birth and throughout the lives of those living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, as well as support for parents, families, carers, and professional care staff. Their mission is to empower individuals to get the most out of life.

Every donation received helps Shine continue their vital work in local communities across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
